With the expansion of the Seevetal site near Hamburg in 2022, the requirement to supply large quantities of lightweight profiles in the shortest possible time became a reality. Our state-of-the-art roll forming line makes it possible to produce SCHRAG purlins and transoms up to 16 metres in length. With our additional investment in a 12.5 metre press, we offer our customers individual profile geometries in excess length.
This year, SCHRAG is starting phase 2 and is focusing on moulded parts for roof and wall applications. As a specialist for individual edge profile solutions in lightweight metal construction, SCHRAG produces moulded parts and special profiles for roofs and walls. Short delivery times and competitive prices are our driving force in the "SCHRAG Smart Factory" project. Our aim is to continuously improve our service and solution expertise for our customers. The new investments are aimed at achieving a maximum degree of automation in the coil and edging process. From Q3/2024, we will offer you even better product availability, flexibility in design and higher quality.
How is SCHRAG strengthening the moulded parts for roofs and walls product area?
In order to achieve the goals we have described, we have focussed our new investments on material thicknesses of 0.75 mm to 1.50 mm. In future, we will be able to offer you maximum flexibility up to a strip width of 1,250 mm and a length of up to 8,500 mm. In addition to the wide range of colours from our stock, we offer you a large selection of over 100 RAL colours available at short notice. Of course, we continue to offer you material thicknesses from 1.50 to 4.00 mm in our tried and tested form.

In addition to the existing coil lines for material thicknesses up to 4.00 mm, SCHRAG is investing in two new slitting lines, each equipped with a large automated coil store for material thicknesses up to 1.50 mm and 1,250 mm strip width. The highly automated coil lines increase production capacities by integrating previously separate cut-to-length and slitting processes. We also optimise our speed when changing coils, which is reflected in shorter production times. The slitting lines are connected to double benders with additional automation components, which optimise intralogistics and the effort involved in loading, turning and unloading sheet metal components up to a length of 8,500 mm.
In the area of small parts production, SCHRAG is investing in three new press brakes that enable a bending length of up to 1,500 mm for a material thickness of up to 4.00 mm. The powerful bending machines are characterised by their high speed and user-friendly ergonomics. The machines are equipped with an angle measurement sensor system that optimally supports our endeavours to achieve dimensional accuracy and product quality and raises them to a new market level. The press brakes are complemented by mobile industrial robot cells, which can be used to automatically produce small parts up to 600 mm in length, such as connecting angles.
Both the automated double benders and the press brakes offer offline/remote machine programming in order to react quickly to changing customer requirements. This means that your digital customer drawings (STEP, DWG, NC, Bendex files, etc.) can be utilised even more efficiently in future and the time required for machine programming can be reduced.
