In addition to moulded parts, purlins are essential components of many roof structures in modern lightweight metal construction. They serve as a substructure for the installation of the roof covering. The geometry of SCHRAG purlins makes installation comparatively simple - the purlin shoes can consist of angle profiles for bolting on, or the steel fabricator welds flat steel directly and vertically onto the substructure. The result is significant advantages over other beaded geometries. The purlins can be used as a single-span or coupled girder system.
