The term DB shades covers 12 dark shades (red, blue, green and grey) that are preferably used in bridge and civil engineering construction by Deutsche Bahn (DB) and are not congruent with the classic RAL shades, but are perceived differently due to a proportion of micaceous iron oxide that improves corrosion protection. The proportion of micaceous iron oxide amounts to 65...80% depending on the intended use and results in a glittering appearance.
