Aluminium

Aluminium

Aluminium is a light metal with a silvery-white appearance. After oxygen and silicon, aluminium is the third most common element and the most common metal in the earth's shell.

In materials technology, aluminium is defined as all materials based on the element aluminium. These include pure aluminium (at least 99 % Al), ultra-pure aluminium (at least 99.7 % Al) and aluminium alloys, which can have the strength of steel at a third of the density.

Aluminium and its alloys are easy to process and can therefore be used in a wide range of applications. Low weight combined with dimensional stability predestine this material for façade construction, as do its corrosion resistance and malleability. In addition, surface finishes such as coil or powder coating and anodising are possible, allowing for an individual appearance.
