Establishment of the Friedr. Schrag company
As a young man, Friedrich Schrag established a wholesale business in household and kitchen appliances, working from his parents' house in the Haarhausen district of Hilchenbach.
6 July 1892
Friedrich Schrag entered his company in the commercial register for the Hilchenbach district.
1899
Purchase of a piece of land in Hindenburg Street near Hilchenbach railway station and construction of a large warehouse - removal to Hilchenbach.
1904
Construction and installation of a wall plate roller with a brick joint pattern (wall cladding) in the premises of the Hüttenhain tannery (now known as Loos & Co.).
1906
Start of production of metal wall cladding and roof tile sheeting in an outbuilding of the wholesale warehouse in Hindenburg Street.
1912
Establishment of a metal working shop, plumbing workshop and forge in the mill building
1916
Shift of production facilities to Mühlenweg. Start of production of building plumbing and roofing items such as: galvanised skylights, snow grids and supports, as well as metal sheeting for tiles and slates.

1938
Death of the company's founder, Friedrich Schrag; his son-in-law Karl Goswin becomes the new executive director.
1951
Construction of the company's own galvanising plant.
1962
Friedrich Goswin joined the company on 2 January and replaced his father as executive director on 21 December 1964..
1968
Investment in the first 3-metre sheet metal folding machine, made by Fasti.
1970
The wholesale business was closed down at the end of this year.
1976
First new hall constructed at the Mühlenweg site and investment in the first cut to length plant - a 3-metre and a 6-metre folding press and a 4-metre folding machine.
1977
The first 8-metre folding press was purchased
1985
Establishment of the first SCHRAG branch in Pinneberg near Hamburg on 1 January
1986
Jörg Kindermann joined the company on 1 January. The second SCHRAG branch was opened in Kirchardt near Heilbronn in April.
1988
The purchase and commissioning of "Emma", a 10-metre folding press, constituted yet another cornerstone of our modern, high-performance edging profile business.
Establishment of the first foreign company, Szragopol Sp. z o.o. with its registered office in Borowo near Gdánsk in Poland. Today the company is a branch of SCHRAG Polska Sp. z o.o.
1990
After the fall of the Berlin wall, SCHRAG established its first branch in the former East Germany in Leipzig on 1 July 1990. This company is still active in Leipzig today under the name of SCHRAG Bauklempnerei- u. Bedachungsartikel GmbH, with an additional branch in Dresden.
1992
Establishment of SCHRAG Kantprofile GmbH, with its registered office in Krostitz near Leipzig.
1993
Establishment of the production company SCHRAG Cz s.r.o. in Chomutov / Czech Republic and a branch in Dresden.
1994
Thomas Goswin, the son of Friedrich Goswin, joined the family company as representative of the fourth generation. SCHRAG Bauklempnerei- u. Bedachungsartikel GmbH established a branch in Chemnitz.
1996
Relocation and opening of the new sales, production and administration facilities of SCHRAG Bauklempnerei- u. Bedachungsartikel GmbH at Maximilianallee 12 in Leipzig.
1997
Major fire at the company's head office in Hilchenbach.
Despite the valiant efforts of about 220 fire-fighters and rescue workers, large parts of the production hall and administrative building burnt down.
08. May 98
A memorable day for Friedr. Schrag. The rebuilt company buildings were ready for use exactly 469 days after the fire.
07. Jul 99
Thomas Goswin establishes the company Polska Sp. z o.o. in Warsaw / Poland. Tadeusz Zielke is appointed executive director of the company.
2002
On 11 September, Friedrich Goswin handed over his position as executive director to his son, Thomas Goswin, who thus became the new operational head of the company. The SCHRAG Group is currently headed by Thomas Goswin and Jörg Kindermann.
2005
The topping-out ceremony for the new hall at the Hamburg branch (Seevetal) took place on 19 August 2005. On completion, this increased the total operating space to about 3,000 m².
2006
SCHRAG Austria GmbH, with its registered office in Pfaffstätten near Vienna, was established on 14/12/2005.


2008
Construction of a new plant near Starograd (northern Poland).
This added about 1,000 m2 of production space and 200 m2 of office space.
A new plant was opened in Udlice near Chomutov (Czech Republic) during the course of 2008. This investment included a hall with a size of about 3,000 m² and an office building. In addition, a new coil plant, a 9-metre folding press and other machinery / operating equipment were purchased.
2009
The new SCHRAG|Facades division was established in the spring of 2009.
